Mechanical dock leveller RHM-4000
Heavy-duty mechanical leveler designed for high-frequency operations. Reliable system with self-deploying lip for safe and efficient transitions.
The Rite-Hite Mechanical Dock Leveler offers a simple and effective solution for filling the gap between the warehouse and the trailer during loading or unloading operations. Thanks to its well-thought-out mechanical mechanism, it can be deployed easily without the need for electrical power or complex hydraulics, reducing operating and maintenance costs.
Its rugged construction is designed to withstand heavy use in industrial, logistics or commercial environments. This mechanical leveller provides a stable and secure platform for the smooth passage of forklifts and pallet trucks, improving productivity while reducing the risk of accidents.
Easy to install and use, this leveler is an ideal option for installations that want a reliable solution without the requirements of a hydraulic or electrical system. It represents a sustainable and economical alternative to optimize dock operations on a daily basis.
Holding systems are an essential part of the mechanical leveller's safety system, not only in the storage position, but also, and above all, during its use. Their robust design helps prevent accidents, unlike traditional two-tooth or belt systems, which can lead to costly repairs or premature wear of parts.
- The 9-tooth ratchet system provides optimal safety, ensuring the leveler is held firmly in place until it is manually released. Eventually, alternating two-tooth or belt-clamping systems can wear out, causing the leveler to lift unexpectedly and creating employee safety hazards. On a Rite-Hite mechanical leveler, a 9-tooth ratchet engages with the ratchet bar, helping to ensure that the leveler maintains a safe operating position and does not endanger material handlers by getting up during normal operation, potentially trapping a forklift driver inside the trailer.
- The tension-relief system allows the leveler to rise periodically to accommodate the height of the trailer, as the trailer gradually rises during unloading. Without this device, the pressure exerted by the upward movement of the trailer could damage the grader frame.
Lower back pain is the leading cause of occupational disability, accounting for nearly 20% of occupational accidents and illnesses. Reduce the effects of whole-body vibration by choosing a leveler equipped with the Smooth Transition Dok system.
- The Two-Point Crown Control system reinforces the front hinge (between the leveling plate and the rim) in two places to eliminate the "bumpy" feeling experienced with traditional levelers with increased crown reinforcement.
- The constant radius rear hinge ensures a regular 1/3" gap between the warehouse floor and the leveling tray, greatly reducing the gap that causes painful bumps and turns when passing.
- The extended lip chamfer comes standard with an extended length of 3 inches (compared to 1/3 inch for the traditional leveler) which ensures a smoother transition between the edge and the floor of the trailer, helping to reduce body impact.
- The beam construction includes two additional L-beams under the leveler plate, which provides increased strength and superior flexibility, allowing the leveler to flex up to 4 inches under its own weight.
Rite-Hite's Hydrachek system, combined with a flexible (yieldable lip), helps improve personnel safety, increase productivity, and extend the overall life of the equipment.
- Hydrachek System
Allows for a slow and controlled lowering of the lip after the leveler is lifted.- It improves productivity by providing more time to position the leveler correctly from the first use.
- It increases safety by reducing the risk of injury caused by a rapid lip drop during maintenance operations.
- Built-in dual shock absorbers extend the life of the equipment by ensuring smoother, more controlled movement when extending and descending.
- Yieldable Lip
Designed to yield downward in the event of an impact, especially if a trailer accidentally backs up against the lip. This feature reduces the risk of damage to both the trailer and the leveller. - PitMaster X™ Under-Leveler Sealing Option
Helps prevent energy loss, improves dock cleanliness, and increases employee comfort by limiting air infiltration. - Weatherseals
Allows for the sealing of gaps between the dock leveler and the concrete pit walls, improving environmental control and energy efficiency. These gaskets can be installed on new equipment or added to existing installations.
Rite-Hite's durable structural engineering is designed to withstand the most demanding warehouse environments, providing exceptional long-term strength and reliability.
- Deck Strengthening
Two additional beams are integrated into the leveller platform to increase its strength. This design allows for the safe use of three- and four-wheeled forklifts, while providing flexibility of up to 4 inches under its own weight. This absorbency helps reduce the risk of dangerous deviations or unplanned trailer movements during loading operations. - Formed Front Header
This structure complements the four-sided rectangular box design, ensuring increased stability of the whole. It also offers reinforced weld points at each beam, ensuring better support for the front hinge and platform.
