Dok-Commander® combination controls
Centralized interface that simultaneously controls multiple dockside equipment from a single point. Simplified coordination improves operational efficiency and safety.
Do you want better visibility into dock performance for safety and productivity?
Connection to the Rite-Hite ONE* compatible digital platform provides real-time visibility and data, enabling informed maintenance decisions, reducing inefficiencies, and helping to prevent safety incidents.
- Security. Real-time alerts sent to any device to identify and stop unsafe behavior, such as:
- Dok-Lok Waivers and/or Failure Modes
- Employee Entering Unsecured Trailer
- Dock door open but safety barrier not deployed
- Productivity. Analytics collected at every stage of the loading process to identify bottlenecks and optimize operations, such as:
- Total loading time to avoid holding costs
- Use of equipment to determine under- or over-utilization
- Trailer docked but restraint not yet engaged
- Availability. Visibility into the status of connected devices and their service history, such as:
- Definition of equipment condition (out of service or immediate repair required)
- Downward performance trend (cycles, usage, service history)
- Documentation and recording of maintenance interventions and events

The Dok-Commander® offers enhanced communication between dock personnel inside the building and truck drivers outside, through internal controls, exterior communication lights, and indoor/outdoor instruction panels. Controls facilitate immediate or gradual integration of any Rite-Vu™ Hazard Recognition and Control component, allowing installations to:
- Integrate a line-of-sight light communication system with the status of Corner-Vu™ and Leveler-Vu™ equipment
- Expand the blue light policy to reduce the 80,000 annual forklift and pedestrian accidents by increasing reaction time with Pedestrian-Vu™
- Help prevent the second leading cause of fatal back-up collisions in the U.S. with Approach-Vu™, which uses a light and sound system to provide a clear visual and audible warning to pedestrians in the approach area when a vehicle in reverse is detected
- Check the engagement of the Dok-Lok and the presence of the trailer rack via an outdoor camera and an indoor monitor with Lok-Vu™, reducing the number of interventions in the hazardous access area
All components are available as stand-alone or integrated into the Dok-Commander combined control system, providing more flexibility and maximizing long-term throughput per dock position. These systems allow facilities to address their most pressing safety needs first, while retaining the ability to integrate vehicle restraints and other security solutions at a fraction of the cost compared to separately purchased equipment.

Rite-Hite® Extended Warranty includes up to 5 years on parts / 5 years on labor and connected features
Reduced human error with a secure sequence of operations – Programmable to provide a secure and customized sequence of operations to optimize safety at the loading dock or tailor sequences to your application: door protection policy, open door policy, or closed door policy (supply chain integrity). The secure sequence of operations helps ensure proper use of equipment to protect employees, equipment, and products by reducing human error and equipment failures.
Industry Recommended Good Electrical Practice – An external disconnect switch (provided by a third party) shuts off the power supply to the Dok-Commander® and equipment for ease of maintenance and servicing. The controls provide extensive compliance with national and local electrical codes.
Reduced Risk When Maintaining Hydraulic Dock Levelers – An optional maintenance pendant socket helps reduce hazards and waste while improving productivity when servicing hydraulic levelers. This system helps to alleviate labour shortages by requiring a single technician instead of two.
Physical reinforcement of building security – Dok-Lok® vehicle restraint systems physically enhance safety when the control system is connected to an active building security system. If a committed device is tampered with or tampered with, the building's security system is alerted and the facility's protocols are triggered.
Reduced forklift accidents at the dock – With more than 7,000 accidents annually involving forklifts falling off the dock, light communication systems actively inform operators before trailers enter and exit.
Reduced trailer separation accidents – Light communication systems help prevent premature trailer departures by clearly informing dock personnel when it is safe to enter or exit a trailer, and by letting drivers know when it is safe to leave the dock.
Line of Sight Light Communication – Compatible with the Dok-Commander, the Corner-Vu™ and Leveler-Vu™ systems provide an immediate line-of-sight indication of the Dok-Lok® status to operators entering and exiting the trailer, reducing unnecessary trolley traffic and miscommunication with clear indications: green (safe entry) and red (no entry). This advanced visual communication system reduces the risk of the control box being clogged by pallets, personnel, or forklifts.
A single centralized control panel – The Dok-Commander® combination control panel integrates several loading dock equipment, such as: vehicle restraints, dock levelers, sectional doors, dock lights, dock fans, and the Rite-Vu™ Hazard Recognition and Control system. The Dok-Commander is compatible with most competitive hydraulic levellers.
Application for reduced door shafts – Dok-Commander combination controls enable installation with close door centers by reducing the number of loading dock controls to a single centralized panel. The Dok-Commander is narrower, allowing for a more compact installation compared to traditional loading dock configurations.
Reduced interventions on the access area – When equipped with the Lok-Vu™ system, one or two exterior cameras are displayed on the Dok-Commander® interior panel. The system can confirm the presence and proper securing of a trailer, as well as verify the presence of a trailer support, preventing employees from having to exit into a dangerous access area.
Dok-Lok® Status for Forklifts Entering and Exiting the Trailer – The system actively communicates the status of the Dok-Lok® to material handling operators when entering and exiting the trailer via communication commands installed to the left of the dock door opening.
Withstand harsh dock environments – NEMA 4X standard Dok-Commander combo controls provide superior protection against corrosion and extreme dock environments, such as: windblown dust and rain, splashing water, and more. The flexible circuit adapts to changing needs with easily updated components and additional options. The outdoor lights are UL certified and designed with energy-efficient LED bulbs.
