The dates chosen for the holidays varied by region. This disrupted the schedule of workers whose sites were located in another municipality. They were free while the construction sites were closed. And conversely, they had work during the leave period defined by the authorities in their territory.

Faced with this, the unions then asked the government to harmonise the dates. This is how the 1971 decree on the "construction holidays" came out. It stipulates that all workers in the sector were entitled to 2 weeks of paid leave from July. The Government communicates the exact dates each year.
